God Experience: Recollection for School Children

One day recollection was conducted for the children of Bethany Convent School, Macmandro on Thrusday, 18th September, 2014. The theme of the recollection was "Experiencing  God in our life." Various sessions were conducted in their respective classes, besides a general session. The recollection began at 9.00 in the morning and was concluded at 2.30 in the afternoon.

Seven brothers were involved in preaching the recollection: Alex Darwin, Bipin Kandulna, Bibin Varghese, John Kennedy, Rajan Ekka, Sunil Toppo and Ignatius Kerketta. Fr. Raju Felix Crasta was the organizer. 

Fr. Raju Felix Crasta conducted a special session for a group of selected students who are the leaders in the school called, "The Bethany Champions."

Monti Fest Celebration


Konkani Catholic Association (KCA) Ranchi celebrated annual Monti Fest in, Carmel School, Shamlong, Ranchi, Jharkhand on 14th September, 2014. The celebration started with the Holy Eucharist Presided over by Rev. Fr. Joseph Prasad Pinto OFM Cap., the Rector of St. Albert’s College (Pontifical Major Seminary), Ranchi. The chief celebrant in his introductory message explained the history of rich tradition about the ‘Monti Fest and Novem.’ Fr. Alwyn Noronha OFM Cap., broke the Word of God. In his homily he stressed the role of Mary in the life of all, especially in priests and religious. The Mass began with the blessing of New Corn and floral tribute to Mother Mary. Sr. Alzeera Vas AC, the Principal of the School, welcomed the gathering.

Soon after the Mass, Fr. Gilbert D’Souza S.J., blessed the ‘novem’ and distributed to all. Elders from various communities and families came together and cut the festive cake along with Fr. Vijay Kamath S.J., the famous educationist of Ranchi. Dr. Helga D’Costa Chen and Sr. Flavia conducted various group games and ice-breakers.

Dance 
Delicious meal was the chief attraction of the day. Various items such as ‘sanna, chana, dal, sango, karomb, lonche, mithai…’ were prepared and brought by different communities and families which made us to realize that we, the Konkani speaking people are ONE in heart and mind. The programme was concluded with the traditional song, “Laudate domino...”
